As far as the new committee goes -this is our first post! So, hello (:
/We had our Anual General Meeting a couple of months ago, where the Committee of Year'10 stepped down and the new committee stepped up. Past leaders gave their speeches and announced the names on the new list and that was it, the baton was handed over.
A lot of things have been happening and truth be told, our form six year has been all that we have expected it to be and more! It's a lot of learning and growing up, a lot of being independent and finding yourself, a lot of fun and a lot of life long memories being made every single day, every single event.
Up till now, we have had probably a handful of event that have come and gone. Pictures will be up soon! And this blog will be more frequently updated. But before all that, we just want say a big thankyou to our seniors who have been with us through rain and shine, waterballoon fights and scary +dangerous orientation games! Thankyou for all the effort and all the good times. Here's to many more (:

Our Senior Bala suggested to make car stickers for the Form 6 Club

The Sticker serves as an identity for each of us as a Form Sixer

BLOOD DRIVE! it was a pretty successful blood drive on the 1st of July

considering that there were a couple of set backs when it started, but our council members quickly reacted to it and we ended up being able to keep it all under control... = )

AGM 2009

It's AGM tomorrow (Thursday, 18/6/2009)!!

The B.O.D of 08/09 will be stepping down tomorrow and we'll announce the new B.O.D of 09/10.

For those of you who are interested, please be at 6 ATAS SEROJA @ blok D. The meeting will start at 1.30pm SHARP.

Candidates who nominated themselves are REQUIRED to be present.

Election for the new B.O.D

Form 6 is special in every way.

Well, the uniforms we wear are special, the subjects we take are special, our shoes are special especially, and not to forget the way we choose our new B.O.D is also extremely special. For we did not elect the new B.O.D by using the usual method most of the clubs and societies did. We did something exactly like our country's elecion- Pilihan Raya.

We printed papers with names of the candidates who are going for different posts and every student from form six has to cast their votes by marking "X" beside the name whom they support.

On that very day, approximately 90 students from both upper and lower sixes casted their votes. The classroom where the election was held was extremely packed and crowded.

It took around one and a half hour for everyone to finish voting. So, the '08/'09 board stayed back to count the votes.

Well, the election could be said to be quite successful but still not good enough. For we did not follow the way the real "Pilihan Raya" was supposed to be. For example, voters aren't supposed to discuss among themselves who to vote for. Plus, not every student from form six was there to cast their votes. It was a disappointment to see only half of the upper sixers who were supposed to be seniors to the juniors already and still did not present for the election to cast their votes/cooperate/play their role.

Regardless of what it is, thank you to those of you who voted and helped out to make this happen.

It's the time of the year for the lower sixth former to register themselves for form 6.

The Form Six Club was given the responsibility to be in charged of the Orientation for one week.

Thank you Bala and his team for coming out with so many fabulous and absolutely fun games and presentations for the lower sixes! Well done! (:

Library, Japan Week '08

Around September last year, the librarians had "Japan" as their exhibition theme.

The Form Six Council (used to) was invited to help in that exhibition. It was a combined work from members of the Economy Club and Kelab Pencinta Alam.

We set up a booth in the APD room. Bookmarks with anime drawings were sold. Besides that, we provided photo-taking sessions with the choice of your own japanese scenaries as the background. We even had games for the lower forms who visited the exhibition to play.

The responce was overwhelming.

Nostalgia Day

I could still remember what the seniors did to us on the very first day we met them during orientation clearly. I could also remember what they did to us during water games, which was obviously much worse than what we did to the current lower sixers.

They seemed to be so BIG, well at least to me, and a little wild and somehow, very sporting.

Requests asked by them when we were to complete the signature drive, questions bombarded to those who nominated themselves for positions in the council. You guys really made us remember all of you so well, but without all those things all of you asked us to do, I'm pretty sure we, the current upper sixers now, wouldn't be who we are now.

For when we were asked plenty of questions during campaigns, we became more confident of ourselves and braver. It was the first and one great experience for most of us.

There is a tradition every year, the lower sixers have to organize an event called "The Nostalgia Day" for the upper sixers who will graduate after their STPM examination.

Charity, Hamper Day

Hamper Day is a day every SeaParkian has to go through.

It is the day we show our contribution to the community who are less fortunate by donating certain items such as food, toys, toiletries and etc etc.

On that very day, the Form Six Club organized a trip to go to the homes near our school. We went to a care center and an orphanage.

As students who care, we tried our best to fill up the loneliness of the less fortunates by setting up games, exercise events, singing songs, cleaning up the place, etc etc.

A BIG thank you to all the form sixers, teachers who helped to make this happened! Your participation is sincerely appreciated. I'm sure the people whom we visited had a great time too.

Majority of us rarely have the opportunity to do charity, even if we do, the only times we contribute to the community is when we make donations. But this time, we went to the homes, we helped them, we played with them, we sang for them and we showed that they are not abandoned and there are still people who love as well as care for them.

This is a very good start, keep it going form sixers!

All the brain-stormings for games and events are worth it when we see smiles on their faces.

Celebration after the Inter School Form Six Games

Everyone deserved a pat on the shoulder after our victory in the Inter School Form Six Games.

We organized a steamboat buffet. Everyone who took part in the games were invited.

It was a good and fun gathering. We had free flow of drinks, unlimited ice cream, marshmallows, biscuit sticks with chocolate topping and FOOD!!

In the end, everyone went home with a bloated stomach! (:

I would like to thank those who made this celebration happened. You know who you are, thank you very much!

Hello fellow form sixers! This is officially the first post for this blog! This is the blog where every form sixers from SMK Taman SEA check for the latest happenings in school.
